General FAQ


Do I have to be a Fish Tank member to buy from the [BUCK-TICK WEB SHOP]?
* No. The store is open to everyone.
* However, items with the pink [Fish Tank 会員限定] ("Limited to Fish Tank members") label are only available to Fish Tank members and you have to log in to purchase them.
* If you try to purchase a Fish Tankers only item without logging in first, you will be prompted to either log in or join Fish Tank, as shown on this screen cap: Not logged in


Which credit cards are accepted?
* The accepted credit cards are: VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club International, American Express and JCB.


How much does shipping cost?
* At the time of your order you will be charged 5,750 yen for shipping.
* There is no limit of items per order. You can order as many items as you wish.
* Your shipping charge will later be adjusted depending on your country and the weight of the package.
* If your shipping charge comes up to less than 5,750 yen you will be refunded the difference.
* If your shipping charge comes up to more than 5,750 yen, you will be advised of the change.
* If you are incorrectly charged for shipping while placing your order, the fee will be adjusted and you will be advised of the change. (For example, if a glitch in the system charges you 575 yen instead of 5,750 yen.)


How long until my order is shipped?
* Your order will be shipped out within 2 weeks (except for pre-orders and items that need to be specially ordered).


How long until until I receive my order? *new
* It will vary depending on where you live, but generally speaking the order should take about 8 weeks to get to you.


What happens if an item I ordered ends up being sold out?
* If it turns out that an item you ordered is after all sold out, you will be contacted and your order will be cancelled.
* If only one item in your order turns out to be sold out, your order will be processed without that item and your shipping charge will be adjusted. *new


Can I make changes to my order after it's been finalized?
* To make any changes to your order after it's been finalized, contact the shop using the [Contact] form.


How do I contact the shop?
* If you ARE NOT a Fish Tank member: click [Contact] in the main menu and follow the instructions on this screen cap: General contact form

* If you ARE a Fish Tank member:
    1- Log into the site either through the [Members] page or the main page.
    2- Click on [Contact] and follow the instructions on this screen cap: Fish Tank members' contact form

* You can write your questions in English but know that the shop staff's English is very limited. Keep your inquiries as simple as possible. *new


Does the shop require me to type my name in katakana?
* Though the field is mandatory on a few different pages, I found that simply typing your name twice should work. If it doesn't, try entering [カナ] ("kana") in the katakana field.
    1- If you want to look up your name in katakana, try the following sites: Google Language Tools or http://www.alc.co.jp.
    2- Alc may be a bit harder to use but the results are quite accurate. Follow the screen caps to use the site: Space Alc step 1 then Space Alc step 2.


This page appeared when I clicked a link: Error 404. What do I do?
* You got the [Page not found] error. You can click on [Home] and return to the main page. If you get this error while editing your shopping cart the contents of your cart should remain intact.


Fish Tank Members FAQ


Where do I log in?
* You can log in at two different locations:
    1- On the left hand side of the home page: Home page login
    2- By going to the [Members] page: Members page login


NOTE: When you log in for the first time, double check whether Fish Tank entered your personal information correctly. You can do so by logging in through the [Members] page and clicking on [会員登録内容変更] ("Make changes to personal information").


What are my username and password?
* Your username is your 5-digit Fish Tank membership number.
* Your initial password is made up from the month and day of your birth date. For example, if you were born July 15th, your password will be 0715.


How do I change my password?
* You can change your password on the following page:
    1- Go to the [Members] page and log into the site.
    2- Click on [会員登録内容変更] ("Make changes to personal information").
    3- Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
    4- Follow the instructions at the bottom of this screen cap: Change password


I forgot my password.
* If you forgot your password, follow these steps:
    1- Go to the [Members] page and click on [パスワードを忘れた方] ("Forgot my password"). Alternately, you can also click on that same button beneath the login window on the main page. See screen cap: Members page or Home page.
    2- Follow the instructions on this screen cap: Forgotten password form
    3- Follow the steps through to the end and you will be sent a new password.
    4- Your old password will become invalid the moment you are issued a new one.


What is [My page]?
* It is your personal account which you can reach by going to the [Members] page and logging in. From there you'll be able to view your order history and your wish list, edit your personal information including your password, edit or add a shipping address, view your store points and finally, log out.

How can I change my personal information?
* To edit your information follow the steps below. Some information (your name, gender and birth date) is linked to your Fish Tank membership and can only be changed by contacting Fish Tank at bt@buck-tick.com.
    1- Go to the [Members] page and log into the site.
    2- Next click on [会員登録内容変更] ("Make changes to personal information").
    3- Follow the instructions on this screen cap: Change personal information


How do I edit or add a shipping address? The [change your personal information] page didn't let me do it.
* To edit or add a shipping address, follow the steps below. You are allowed to register a total of 20 shipping addresses with the site. However, it seems that you are not allowed to edit your main address, the one you registered with Fish Tank upon joining the fanclub. To make changes to that address, you will have to contact Fish Tank at bt@buck-tick.com. You can also use the [Add a new address] form to register the correct version of your address with the shop.

    1- Go to the [Members] page and log into the site.
    2- Next click on [お届け先追加/変更] ("Add/edit shipping address"), then on [新しいお届け先を追加] ("Add a new shipping address") as shown on this screen cap: Add a new shipping address.
    3- A form will appear in a pop-up window. Fill it out by following the instructions on this screen cap: New address form


What are store points?
* Fish Tank members will get points for every purchase. You can use those points to get a discount on future orders.
* You will receive 1 point for every 100 yen you spend at the store (excluding taxes and shipping charges).
* 1 point equals 1 yen.
* The points will expire after one year.


How can I add items to/view my wish list?
* To add items to your wish list, click the orange [お気に入り登録] ("Add to wish list") button, as shown on this screen cap: Add to wish list
* To view your wish list, log in through the [Members] page then click on [お気に入り商品一覧] ("Wish list catalogue") as show on this screen cap: View wish list
