Shopping Guide For Fish Tank Members



STEP 1: Login


* Log in.
    1- You can log in at either of these locations: Home page login or Members page login
    2- You have to be logged in to add Fish Tank only items to your cart. If you try to buy these items without logging in first, you will be prompted to log in before adding the item to your shopping cart. See screen cap: Not logged in



STEP 2: Add items to your shopping cart

* Add Items to your shopping cart by clicking [カートに入れる] ("Add to cart").
    1- Items with a red [返品不可] label cannot be returned.
    2- Some items, like Fish Tank magazine back numbers, are limited to one per person.
    3- For clothing items you will have to specify a size.
    4- While you're shopping the contents of your cart will appear on the left hand side of the screen.

STEP 3: The shopping cart

* You're now inside the shopping cart.
    1- You can delete items from your cart using the [削除] ("Delete") button. Or you can use the +/- buttons to adjust the quantity.
    2- The +/- buttons will not work for items that are limited to one per person. If you try, you will receive an error message.
    3- Beneath your total you can see the total of store points you will earn upon completing the order.
    4- If you want to continue shopping, click the [お買物を続ける] ("Continue shopping") button. It will take you back to the last page you viewed.
    5- If you are ready to check out, click the [ご購入手続きへ] ("Proceed to purchase") button.

STEP 4: The shipping address

* Here you will have to choose your shipping address.
    1- You can also add a new shipping address at this time. Click on [新しいお届け先を追加] ("Add a new shipping address") and fill out the form that will appear in a pop-up window. The screen cap below explains how to fill it out.
    2- The new address form asks for the name to be written in katakana but I found that simply typing your name twice should work. If it doesn't, try entering [カナ] ("kana") in the katakana field.
    3- If you want to look up your name in katakana, try the following sites: Google Language Tools or http://www.alc.co.jp. To use Alc, follow these screen caps: Space Alc step 1 then Space Alc step 2.
    4- Once you have chosen your shipping address, click on [選択したお届け先に送る] ("Deliver to this address").

STEP 5: Payment method and store points

* On this page you have to choose your form of payment.
    1- You will only be asked for your credit card number on the final confirmation page. You do not have to enter it now.
    2- The window in the middle of the page is for any comments or questions you might have pertaining to your order.
    3- At the bottom of the page you can apply your store points. See the screen cap for information.
    4- If you are ready, click on [次へ] ("Next") to proceed to the order overview page.

STEP 6: The order overview

* On this page you can review your order to make sure that all the details are correct.
    1- At this time the shipping charge will be added. Your grand total will be displayed.
    2- You will also be shown how many store points you will have after the order is completed.
    3- To proceed to the final confirmation page, click on [次へ] ("Next").

STEP 7: Final confirmation

* At this time you will be asked to provide your credit card details.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If after inputting your credit card details you find yourself returned to the payment information page instead of proceeding with the order, it means that your credit card has been declined. This can happen in particular if you are using a new card, one that you've never used to make an overseas purchase. You should not have this problem with cards that have been used for an overseas purchase before.

    1- The order will be finalized once you click the [注文する] ("Order") button.
    2- You will receive a confirmation email with your order details.
    3- If you need to make changes to you order after it's been finalized, get in touch with the store staff through the [Contact] form.
