Joining Fish Tank with a non-Japanese address
FT have made it very easy!! There are no forms to fill out, you simply have to send Fish Tank an email with some basic information and a letter with the payment, always in cash (in Japanese yen).
Fish Tank only accept cash, they currently do not take any other form of payment.
Step 1:
Send the following email to bt@buck-tick.com
Email title: 海外入会希望係
(Kaigai nyuukai kibou kakari - person in charge of foreign admissions)
You can copy/paste the Japanese text into the title bar of your email. Or you can write "Kaigai nyuukai kibou kakari" if you're not sure whether your browser will support Japanese font.
Email contents:
1. Your name
2. Your address
3. Your phone number
4. Your fax number, if you have one
5. Sex (m/f)
6. Date of birth
7. Your email
Here's an example email. Don't be afraid to write in English if it's easier for you, they'll understand as long as you keep it simple!

Step 2:
Send your payment, which has to be made in yen. Since you'll be sending cash, I recommend using a larger, opaque envelope for added security.
* When you first join the membership cost will be 5,800yen for the first year. It comes out to about US60$. You can order yen at most banks or at an exchange office. However, keep in mind that some banks may take up to two or more weeks to order the yen for you.
* You are asked by FT to send the money out within 3 days of sending the email. I suggest enclosing a copy of your email as well so that FT know who the payment is coming from.
* FT ask that you send the payment in the safest way possible: registered mail, EMS... Ask your local post office what secure methods they offer.
* If you send the email but FT do not receive the payment within a reasonable amount of time, your membership request will be cancelled.
* Once your payment has been received, you cannot cancel the membership.

About a month later you should receive a card with your official member's number and a Fish Tank pin!!
