Interview with Hoshino Hidehiko
Text by Ichikawa Tetsushi

The plan is to enjoy some Space Shower TV (1) with Hoshino Hidehiko and his doggy, Ginnan.

(We should have been watching SSTV just as the caption above says but the building next door is blocking the satellite's reception and we can't mount the antenna! I'm afraid we are still trying to figure out a way to install it.)

Ichikawa: The signal might be strong if you installed it on the staircase landing but then it'd stick out from the building and completely ruin the amazing view, so I guess that's out of the question...... What in the world made you decide to live in such an expensive apartment~?

Hoshino: Of all the things to get mad at me for. *laughs* It was on the advice of the management. Oh, did you know Nakamura Tooru (2) lives here?

Ichikawa: If I recall correctly, you shared your previous apartment complex with the sisters Kyoko and Jun Togawa (3)...... You must be destined to live among artists.

Hoshino: And just yesterday Tooru-chan came over for some fun. Brought with him four, five models.

Ichikawa: N-n-n-no way!!! Why didn't you call me!?

Hoshino: Are you a male model?

Ichikawa: ......So what have you been watching a lot of?

Hoshino: These days it's been Ningen Shikkaku (4), I relate to it. Every single Friday at ten, I'm home.

Ichikawa: ......that's you alright, you don't come off as the rocker type.

Hoshino: *laughs* But I do like videoclips so I'm happy whenever I get to watch SSTV. I'm the one with the broadest musical taste in B-T. *laughs*

Ichikawa: Hey, and this must be that new dog people were talking about.

Hoshino: He's from the daschund breed but he's silver so I called him Ginji.

Ichikawa: That's too simple. *laughs* What about Ginnan(5), it sounds cuter?

Hoshino: Let's make it Ginnan then.

Ichikawa: ......Really? ......Just don't blame it on me later!

Notes:
1- Space Shower TV is a TV station that's dedicated to music.
2- Nakamura Tooru, born 1965, is a general talent and personality who has worked with both the music and TV industries.
3- Jun Togawa (born 1961), is a J-pop star. Her younger sister Kyoko Togawa (1964-2002) worked with both the TV and music industries as well.
4- Ningen Shikkaku is a drama series. You can learn a tiny bit more about it HERE, on wikipedia.
5- 'Gin' means 'silver' in Japanese. And the puppy's new name, Ginnan, means nothing else but 'gingko'. Cute name indeed for a small dog.
