LOVE PARADE/STEPPERS -PARADE-

LOVE PARADE
Lyrics by Sakurai Atsushi
Translation by Lola

Now, the curtain falls and there is applause, cheers, and kisses blown
Everyone is smiling for us, like a dream that is too good to be true

The whistle shall blow, asking us: where to? And I would go anywhere with you
The cat closes its eyes, and goes on falling into a fleeting dream (1)

Everyone sings, and smiles tearfully beneath their masks
But when you dream, we shall go out together again as we did that day

A roseate parade passes through the street
As bathed in the sunlight filtering through the trees,
I continue on with you

And now, see. The parade will go on to your town
Isn't that nice? See, I will say it again: the parade will go on

I know everyone dances while they smile tearfully beneath their masks
But when you dream, we shall go out together again as we did that day

A roseate parade passes through the street
As bathed in the sunlight filtering through the trees,
I continue on with you

A roseate parade passes through the street
While we may never be able to return, ever again
The parade shall go on

(1) I have previously explained the significance of the verb, "ochiteyuku", in my notes for Warp Day.

STEPPERS -PARADE-
Lyrics by Sakurai Atsushi & Imai Hisashi
Translation by Lola

Gonna go be with you, my love Woo Yeah! BABY(1)
Gonna bring carnival night to you and it'll be great, BABY

We'll get soaked in the MOONLIGHT SHOWER and dance to the ANGEL'S MELODY
We'll live on it like SWEETS that melt in your mouth WOW WOW, so say, "Aah"(2)(3)

PARADE, go through the darkness! MOONLIGHT, light the way!
STEPPERS, stamp your feet! And make it a SEXY move, BABY!

Gonna go into your dream Woo Yeah! BABY
Gonna bring the cat along too to the Luna Park, isn't this great, BABY(4)

We'll take a MOONLIGHT DRIVE across the night and speed off to the DEVIL's MUSIC
We'll live like we've gone crazy WOW WOW from how SEXY it is, so say, "Aah"

PARADE, go through the darkness! MOONLIGHT, light the way!
STEPPERS, stamp your feet! Life, wantonness, CRAZY LOVE Ah! Ah! Ah!

We'll get soaked in the MOONLIGHT SHOWER and dance to the DEVIL's & ANGEL'S MELODY
We'll live on it like SWEETS that melt in your mouth WOW WOW, so say, "Aah"

PARADE, go through the darkness! MOONLIGHT, light the way!
STEPPERS, stamp your feet! And make it a SEXY move, BABY!
PARADE, go through the darkness! MOONLIGHT, light the way!
STEPPERS, stamp your feet! Life, wantonness, CRAZY LOVE

PARADE, go through the darkness! MOONLIGHT, light the way!

(1) There's a play on words in the first part here. Usually you'd see "Omae ni ai ni iku" with the "ai" kanji being "会い" but here it's written as "愛". With the first kanji, the expression just means, "I'm going to go meet you". However, switch it with the second kanji and it literally becomes, "I'm going towards you, I'm going towards love". Basically, people play around with this when they're going to go meet someone they love, or a lover or have a potential hook-up. Instead of just saying they're going to meet someone, they will say they're going towards love, meaning they are going to meet with someone they love, or may potentially love. I have seen cases where they will say something like this, "Because you are my lover, it is not just you I'm going to meet, it's love I'm going to" and things like that, which then gets shortened to the "Omae ni ai ni iku" you see in the lyrics here.
(2) I had to rearrange some of the English used in the original lyrics in order for the line to work when completely translated.
(3) Literally the line here would translate to something like, "Wow Wow like SWEETS that melt, say "Aah" and eat". However, there are two things I'd like to note. First, as you may see I added the "in your mouth" part for English coherency and second, the verb "taberu" does not only strictly apply to eating. Especially in something like song lyrics. "Taberu" can also mean to subsist on something, to live off of something. In this case, to live off of the music. Hence why I translated it the way you see here.
(4) A Luna park is an amusement park.
