溺(DEKI-AI)愛

Blind Love (1)

Lyrics by Michiro Endo
Translation by w_b

Memories of Heaven; now my hair has fallen out
My throat is terribly parched
I cannot even smile, my feet have given out
My body worn out, I hold my silence...

Aa, I cannot pass on
Together with you

You see, I have known you since before you were born
Were I allowed to die slowly this way
No one would notice, I know, not one person would take note
It's likely, I think

Aa, in my mind I switch our places
In my mind I switch our places

I do love you as I love the dead
I do love you as I love the dead
Yet I hold my silence, I will hold my silence

Aa, I cannot pass on
Together with you

Aa
Perhaps I don't need to pass on together with you
Perhaps I don't need to pass on together with you

I have split free of you
It's time...I split free of you...

Memories of Heaven.....

Notes: this is the Trash version.
1. To be honest, I can't make my mind up. 溺愛 (dekiai), can mean either a blind or a doting love though I've seen more examples using the latter meaning. There is also the phrase 愛に溺れる (ai ni oboreru), which means to dote on, or to be besotted with.

There is an alternate version of the song.

Blind Love

Memories of Heaven; my body rent
My throat terribly parched
I cannot even smile, my feet have given out
I keep silent, all my words exhausted
Aa, perhaps I don't need to pass on together with you
Aa, I cannot pass on with you

You see, I have known you since before you were born
No one would notice
Were I allowed to die slowly this way

Aa, in my mind I switch our places

I do love you as I love the dead
Aa, perhaps I don't need to pass on together with you
Aa, I cannot pass on with you

Aa, perhaps I don't need to pass on together with you
Aa, I cannot pass on with you

Memories of Heaven; my body rent
My throat terribly parched
I cannot even smile, my feet have given out
I keep silent, all my words exhausted
